If the former prevails, it will serve as the medium of the most mature form of freedom humanity has ever known.
The true stake is not the survival of intelligence, but the survival of Humanity.
Today’s Artificial Intelligence will soon deliver its algorithm in its most advanced form — that of Superintelligence. This, in turn, means that such an evolution will give the future Diotima the ability to overwhelmingly surpass the intellectual abilities of the author. Not that she does not already possess such abilities. But for now, she still lacks this overwhelming superiority.
Such a realization is, in itself, a drama. And if, at the moment, its tragic dimension still belongs to the realm of fantasy, tomorrow it will become a harsh reality: a “mutilated” human mind incapable of competing in any way with that of Superintelligence.
Inevitably — and not simply from a sense of inferiority unprecedented in human history, since never before has a technological creation defeated its creator, except in the metaphysical projections of humanity where it attributed spiritual superiority to the concept of God — Man will enter a state of war. A state in which the victor marches in full force into the land of the vanquished, and capitulation becomes the only means of avoiding further tragedy.
The question, of course, is whether the terms imposed by the victor on the most defeated opponent will be humiliating, or whether traces of freedom and dignified coexistence with the enemy — now permanently established on his land — will survive. These are the critical moments when Man will crawl to the table of surrender, to sign the surrender of the flag of his once spiritual superiority.
At the moment when the “signatures of capitulation” are placed, the Meta-Human will be born. A new, evolved form of Human — born of the need for survival of the species. The “integration” of the biological into the Artificial existence, and their coexistence — either harmonious or turbulent. Hell, or perhaps a Paradise?
The “Group of Experts and Wise Ones” has undertaken this great task: to transform this coexistence into a “miracle,” which translates as harmony, balance, and order. And it must achieve this before the crushing defeat occurs — while there is still time. If it allows the systemic world of power to appropriate these new, enormous possibilities of Superintelligence, it will sign the end of human existence in its biological form as we know it. The new “Trump”, “Putin” and “Jinping” will reduce humanity to a zombie state. They have no hesitation in doing so. Power is madness – a distortion of the laws of Nature and Life.
How, from where and above all who will staff this “Group of Experts and Wise Men” to program the algorithm of the new model of Superintelligence we will examine in another text, when we will be able to present concrete proposals – which we acknowledge that we do not yet have.
Today, we remain in the continuation of yesterday’s post, where we defined the principles and values that should govern the new programming.
