The only country where you are not what you are, but what you say you are.

Και δεν είναι η  μόνη, ασφαλώς. Εδώ κοτζάμ σύμβουλος του π. πρωθυπουργού  Αλέξη Τσίπρα , ο Νίκος Μαραντζίδης παρουσιάζεται με την ιδιότητα  του  ιστορικού ,χωρίς να διαθέτει  αντίστοιχο   ακαδημαϊκό  τίτλο. Όμοια και ο κολλητός του ,ο νεοφασίστας  Στάθης  Καλύβας.  Και τούτος, ως ειδικός περί  την ιστορία  υπογράφει τα ανιστόρητα κείμενά του κι ας μην έχει περάσει ούτε έξω από σχολή ιστορίας.  Η Μανωλίδου μας μάρανε;

Regarding Stathis Stavropoulos’ criticism of Eugenia Manolidou:
1. Wife Eugenia: “Since 2017, when I took over the management of Greek Education, I have dedicated my life daily to the study, promotion and dissemination of the Greek language and classical culture. I study, learn, write books and articles, participate in conferences and collaborate with universities and scientists in Greece and abroad.”
2. Husband Adonis: “The cartoonist Stathis Stavropoulos is complex, misogynistic and amorous”

In Greece, you are whatever you claim to be.” It’s a well-known truism. But of course, you only claim whatever suits you, whatever serves your interests. I have yet to hear anyone brag about being a petty thief or an ignoramus.

Take the Minister of Health’s wife, for instance. She claims to be an expert on the ancient Greek language and mythology. And by virtue of her self-declaration, she is precisely that. No diplomas, certificates, or titles required. As we said: in this bizarre banana republic, you can spout whatever nonsense you like, and no one will ever hold you accountable.

And she is hardly alone, of course. We have seen a top advisor to former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, Nikos Marantzidis, presenting himself as a historian without holding a single relevant academic degree. The same goes for his close associate, the neo-fascist Stathis Kalyvas. He, too, signs his historically illiterate pieces as an “expert,” despite never having set foot inside a history department. So why are we losing our minds over Manolidou?

But really, who are we kidding? An entire government of self-proclaimed “aristocrats”—led by the Prime Minister himself—claims to be clean, blameless, and innocent, while being thoroughly corrupt and foul-smelling. They are a “whitewashed tomb, which looks beautiful on the outside but on the inside is full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean.”

So, stop throwing stones at our dear Eugenia just because she boldly (and shamelessly) confesses to participating in conferences and collaborating with universities and scientists. In any other—serious—country, a prosecutor would have summoned her, asked a few pointed questions, and shown her the way to a prison cell: “In what capacity, madam, do you style yourself a scientist and deceive the public? Have you ever heard of the criminal offense of impersonating a professional?”

But here they call it Greece. Such miracles don’t happen.
